I recently got a full-time job working as an IT Director at a local school and church. It’s such a change of pace from what I thought I’d be doing when I got out of college. I have to say, I’m very grateful for the work, but part of me feels lost. Every night, I come home and work to keep improving my art skills. The loss of free-time may have been good for me though, as I tend to work harder with the limited time I do have… Typically spending 8 hours into the night drawing and designing. I have to admit that digital painting is not something I really get. I purchased a Wacom Cintiq to try and make it easier for me to make progress and it has definitely gotten a lot better, but a tool is no substitute for practice!
I’m still trying to make my own video game with a friend of mine. After a couple months of throwing ideas back and forth (and some production roadblocks), I think we’ve finally settled on a really cool 2-player mobile concept. I am really excited to be working on it!
That being said, I’m going to have to pull a Nintendo and not tell anyone what it is exactly. I will however, share this concept of a menu screen… I will also throw in some of the sketches I’ve done since I got my Cintiq. Enjoy!
